BOOSTER CLUB WORK DAY
March 6th
The Booster Club along
with the parents and members of the Baseball
team scheduled a work day for Saturday, March 6th to prepare the ball field for home game action.  There were about 35 people on hand and they got a lot accomplished.
If the weather holds up, we should be playing on the field pretty soon.
Thanks to all those who
came out and participated.
McDonald ignites
Spartans' outburst
Austin McDonald drove in four runs during a 12-run fourth inning as Prairie View spanked Franklin Academy 21-8 on Monday, night.
Leading 5-4, the Spartans paraded 16 batters to the box during the fourth inning outburstMcDonald doubled
and singled and Hunter Smith added a two-run single as Prairie View upped the spread to 16-4.
  After the Cougars picked up a run in the home half of the fourth, the Spartans tacked on four more in the fifth. McDonald drove in his fifth run of the evening with a base hit. Franklin wrapped up the scoring with three in its half of the fifth.
  Run-producing singles by Jeremy Cooper and Collin Robinson staked the Spartans to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first.
  Trailing 3-2, the Spartans went ahead to stay with three in the second.  Three walks and Smigh's run-scoring single helped Prairie View go up 5-4.
  McDonald paced the Spartans (2-3) offensively with a double, two singles and five ribbies, Smith added three singles, Robinson contributed two safeties and Pat Laird and Cooper supplied base knocks.
  Matt Reed went the distance on the mound for the win.
Prairie view is back in action at home Friday against Claiborne, Game time is 3:30 pm.

Trevor Wallace paced the Spartans' eight-out output with two singles and trhee RBIs.  Cooper tripled and Pait Laird, Robby Jones, Hunter Smith, Seth Allen and Matt Reed singled.
Wallace worked five innings for the win, before giving way to Jones in the sixth.
Hunter Smith singled home the only run of the game in the
bottom of the seventh as Prairie View trimmed Huntington 1-0.

Matt Reed twirled a one-hitter and Hunter Smith singled home the winning run with one out in the bottom of the seventh as Prairie View nipped Huntington 1-0 Tuesday afternoon.

Smith's one-out single chased home Jeremy cooper, who singled and stole second, as the Spartans extended their winning streak to seven.

Reed, an eighth grade southpaw, allowed only two base runners,
Holden Hill singled and stole second in the fourth, but could advance no further.  Roper Craft reached on a fifth-inning error, before being caught stealing.

Reed punched out eight without issuing a free pass.  Prior to the seventh, the Spartans had stranded eight runners, including the third when they left the sacks packed.

Smith (3 for 4) accounted for three of the Spartans' five hits.  Cooper and Robby Jones added base knocks.

Prairie View (7-3) visits Claiborne Academy today at 3:30 pm.,
before starting MAIS District 6-2A play at home against Cenla Christian on Tuesday at 3:30.

Austin McDonald doubled and scored twice in Prairie View's
12-5 win over Claiborne Academy.
Robby Jones unloaded a two-run circuit swat and Matt Smart held Claiborne scoreless over the final four innings to help Prairie View to a 12-5 road victory.

Trailing 4-0 entering the bottom of the third, Claiborne put up five runs with the help of two Prairie View fielding errors.  That was all the Rebels would get, though, as Smart was lights out in 4 1/3 innings of relief.

Prairie View (8-3) recaptured the lead with a four-spot in the fifth.  Collin Robinson's run-scoring single and Seth Allen's triple helped the Spartans open up an 8-3 lead en route to their eighth consecutive victory.  Jones' two-run bomb in the sixth stretched the margin to 10-5.

Priairie View added two more in the seventh.  Austin McDonald led off with a double and scored on Matt Reed's base hit.  Reed later came down the line on an error.  Breaking up a scoreless tie, the Spartans plated four in the top of the third.

Austin McDonald was hit by a pitch to start the inning and Dylan Carroll was safe at first on a bunt.  Both runners advanced on a passed ball, setting up Jeremy Cooper's two-run single.  After Jones reached on a  misplay, Hunter Smith chased Cooper across with a base hit.  Jones later touched home on an E.

Cooper paced the Spartans' nine-hit attack by going 2-for-3.  Jones went yard, Allen touched off a three- bagger, McDonald doubled and Smith, Carroll and Robinson singled.
